Understanding the game

Explore the technologically advanced futuristic Mega City in your very own hover car. See what life could be like in the future. Drive through the bustling urban skies of the city. Find the temples in amongst the concrete jungle. Will you be able to find the temple in a shorter time than the AI? See if you can take your hover car skills to the next level!

Process of Composition

For Mega City I wanted the player to have an immersive experience where they would not hear the same music for at least 5 minutes as they were travelling around the city. The loops were composed using various synthesizers. I experimented with different effects such as reverbs, phasers and flangers to eventually get to the sounds that you will hear below in the music player.

Integration

The tracks were implemented through Unity's audio engine. I wanted the tracks to randomly play in a shuffled order. I wrote a script in Unity to execute this. The script would choose a random track from a collection and not play that same song until the whole collection had been finished. This meant the player could sit idle and not hear the same audio. This would give the player an immersive experience, which is one of the most desirable aspects to a game for a developer.
